In 2020, Europe will plot a new course towards the digital age. The event on January 27 centers on the role of competition policy and online platforms in this new age. This event is part of the Digital Days at the Dutch Permanent Representation.

Questions on the table include whether the current EU competition framework is adequately equipped to ensure a fair and innovative digital economy, and what can be done to ensure it remains fit for purpose. Are additional instruments necessary? Specific checks on the powers of platforms over their users? Should the EU take the value of data into account when assessing market power?

Speakers include Stéphanie Yon-Courtin (MEP, Renew), Claire Bury (DG Connect, European Commission), Christian Borggreen (CCIA), Karina Stan (Developers Alliance), and Ursula Pachl (BEUC). Moderated by Imane Elfilali.

Please note that this event is invite-only.
