Artificial intelligence will shape the economy in the coming decades. The European Commission’s initiative aims to create a human-centric, ethical, and innovation-friendly framework for the further development and deployment of AI that will benefit both businesses and society as a whole. The Ethical AI and Innovation event is part of the Digital Days at the Dutch Permanent Representation.

This event brings together policy-makers, experts and interest groups to discuss how to safeguard ethical principles and fundamental rights while also promoting innovation. At the start of the session the Netherlands’ AI action plan and the Dutch non-paper for an EU-approach on AI will be presented.

Speakers include Dragos Tudorache (MEP, Renew), Tom Berendsen (MEP, EPP), Khalil Rouhana (DG Connect, European Commission), Holger Hoos (Professor of Machine Learning, Leiden University), and Kees van der Klauw (Dutch AI coalition). Moderated by Jennifer Baker.
