European Cyber Security network event
Join the Permanent Representations of the Netherlands and Estonia for a thought provoking exchange at our Cyber Security network event on Monday 1 July 2019.
With the rapid advancement of new technologies (AI, IoT, big data, biometrics, quantum computing, 5G) we see a clash of interests between privacy, economic and security domains. Traditional compartmentalized approach to new technologies no longer suffices to address the complex and far-reaching effects and risks this innovative technology will have on our society. In a time where both professional criminals and state actors threaten our national security and our economic interests, we may have to look for new and effective approaches. We need to find a new balance — not only nationally but especially internationally.
How can we work together, bilaterally, in public-private cooperation and within the European Union? How can we strengthen the weakest links, boost our mutual resilience and deter threats that we are facing, while still being able to capitalize on economic/social opportunities of digitalization? These and other questions will be adressed during the cyber security network event on 1 July 2019.
