Launch European Plastics Pact
Friday 6 March, Stientje van Veldhoven, Brune Poirson and Lea Wermelin will launch the European Plastics Pact. The pact brings together frontrunner companies, governments and NGOs to accelerate the transition towards a European circular plastics economy.
Despite the many benefits plastics provide, we face a huge challenge in reducing plastics wastage and littering. The European Plastics Pact accelerates the shift towards the reuse and recycling of single-use plastic products and packaging. Signatories commit to work together on design, responsible use, recycling capacity and the use of recycled items. The Pact supports this work by offering a unique platform to exchange ideas, to share good practices, and to discuss challenges ahead.
More than eighty organizations (governments, companies, NGOs and business associations) from across Europe have helped shape the European Plastics Pact. You can read how to participate in the launch or the Pact here.
